about

The first Mark cassette. Occasionally inept, but always assured. The kind of songs that, at first listen, might seem to you to be about Mark. Later, you decide that they are actually about, respectively: a nostalgic slut, a medicated nut, a limo driver, a burning witch, a lovesick adulterer, a hallucinating drunk, and a remorseful thief; then you wonder which ones Mark was; and suddenly you realize that they are really all about you.

about

Mark Szabo Vancouver, British Columbia

Four-eyed southpaw.
"a self-confessed 'record-collector type' who lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, plays guitar left handed, and writes the damnedest songs you've ever heard...
...Another feature of Mark's songs makes them unusually appropriate for reinterpretation: their avoidance of the confessional and autobiographical."
-Franklin Bruno.
